ROME, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Italian business confidence rose to a 10-year high in August, the country's statistics office ISTAT said Monday.
The index rose from 105.6 in July to 107 in August, its highest since before the financial crisis in June 2007, when it was 109.6.
The consumer confidence index was also up, from 106.9 in July to 110.8 in August.
According to Ansa news agency, Italy's Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan expressed his satisfaction at the figures, saying the government had to press on along the path it had undertaken, to "make the recovery structural".
