BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhua) -- China has started building the Belt and Road eco-environment protection big data service platform and alliance for green development for supporting the "green development" of the Belt and Road initiative, said Guo Jing, director of Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP).
Addressing a press conference on July 20, Guo said that the platform was aimed at facilitating green transformation, green trade, green investment and green infrastructural construction under the Belt and Road initiative.
The MEP has also signed an MoU with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on building green Belt and Road in 2016 and the two parties have started forming the aforementioned alliance on the basis of this memorandum.
