BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced on Dec. 26 the national benchmark on-grid prices would be lowered for PV power generating projects approved after Jan. 1, 2017 and onshore wind power projects approved after Jan. 1, 2018.
Under the policy, if the on-grid prices for PV power and onshore wind power are higher than the local benchmark price for thermal power, the extra part would be subsidized by the national renewable energy development fund.
Besides, the NDRC has set the benchmark on-grid prices for offshore wind power and intertidal wind power at 0.85 yuan (about 0.12 U.S. dollar)/kWh and 0.75 yuan (0.11 U.S. dollar)/kWh, respectively.
While encouraging the introduction of market-oriented on-grid pricing mechanism for PV, onshore and offshore wind power projects, the NDRC stressed that the market-oriented prices should not top the national benchmark prices. Enditem (Edited by Li Xiaohui, lixh@xinhua.org)
