BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tongwei (600438.SH) will actively respond to the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and the strategy of agricultural globalization to explore the overseas market by holding feed as the core and regarding aquaculture and food processing as the wings, said Guo Yizhong, president of the listed company during a recent meeting with the Promotional Group of the Joint Inter-Ministerial Meeting on Foreign Agricultural Cooperation.
After 35 years of development, Tongwei has created a model of dual primary business, involving agriculture and new energy. It has integrated solar/PV power generation with aquaculture and developed the innovative model of Fishery-PV Integration, thereby achieving fruitful results in fishery, power and environmental protection sectors, Guo added.
35 years of steady development shows that Tongwei has met sufficient conditions for globalization and has exhibited tremendous strength,” said Yang Yi, deputy director of the Foreign Cooperation Office under the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).
“MOA has entered into many bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements with several countries, while establishing think tanks to facilitate cooperation among enterprises. In this way, it has provided better support and services to the enterprises in their pursuit of ‘going global’. In the future, MOA will provide more information support and planning proposals for internationalizing Tongwei,” said Yang. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
