National AAA-grade Tourist Attractions of Linqiong Ancient City (Hometown of Zhuo Wenjun and Intoxicating Linqiong)
1. Dabei Street—the Longest Well-preserved Ancient Street in Sichuan
Dabei Street is located in the core area of Linqiong Ancient City, which are a 2300-year-old and the only well-preserved ancient street in Qionglai.
Ancient City Hall, Folk Customs Museum, Old Tea House, Ancient Ancestral Hall, Linqiong Theatre, Linqiong Antique Market and other cultural sites as well as characteristic residential houses and courtyards are well-spaced in picturesque order.
2. Wenjun Well—Famous Historical site of the Western Han Dynasty
Located on south side in the middle segment of Wenjun Street in downtown Qionglai, the Wenjun Well covers an area of 10 mu. As an ancient garden in western Sichuan, it follows a courtyard style of Suzhou and Hangzhou with archaic, simple and elegant architectural features of the southern region.
3. Zhuxi Lake—National AAA-grade Scenic Spot
With 5km distance from downtown Qionglai, Zhuxi Lake runs between Helin Zen Temple and Pantuo Temple. With the surface area of 542 mu and water storage of 3 million cubic meters; it is now National AAA-grade Scenic Spot.
4. Chengdu Yili Dairy Park—National AAA-grade Scenic Spot
Chengdu Yili Dairy Park is the one and only national AAA-grade industrial scenic spot in Qionglai. With the background landscape and garden city characterized by cultural and ecological leisure tourism, it takes advantage of modern production workshops for dairy products, advanced production of technology, profound corporate culture and other resources.
The park consistently and vigorously develops industrial tourism projects which are designed and operated with engaging tour routes. In order to give attention to the different characteristics of the industrial tourism groups, the park committee designs tours, business exchanges, student practice, healthcare experiences, leisurely sightseeing and other tourism products with different characteristics. Ultimately, the park provides various tourism based facilities as well a travel services that are convenient for the tourists.
5. Pantuo Temple
Located in Pantuo Village, Xihe Township, Pantuo Temple is located 5 km from the west Qionglai. Built in Yuanhe Period of the Tang Dynasty, Pantuo Temple was formerly known as "Kaiyuan Temple".
In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed as "Pantuo Temple". The temple is a sacred Buddhist place in Qionglai. Among cultural relics that have been preserved, the area displays precipices of the Tang Dynasty and murals of the Ming Dynasty that create an utmost prestigious environment.
6. Baihe Mountain
The earliest record of "Baihe Mountain" can be found in the Biography of Venerated People of Yibu authored by Chen Shou (a historian in the Jin Dynasty): "Hu An is a native of Linqiong. He taught disciplines in the Baihe Mountains. Sima Xiangru is also under the tutelage of Hu An."
Helin Temple, formerly known as "Baihe Temple", was built in the Sui Dynasties. Helin Temple covers an area of more than 30 mu, where halls and wing rooms take up more than 5,000 square meters. There are more than 20 Buddhist nuns on-sight. It is provincial-level key religious place.
7. Huilan Pagoda
In July 1980, Huilan Pagoda was designated by Sichuan Provincial People's Government as a cultural relic under provincial-level protection. According to Annals of Qionglai County, Huilan Pagoda was built in the 14th year of the Wanli Period under the reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1616). It was formerly known as "Zhenjiang Pagoda".
Huilan Pagoda is a hexagonal pavilion-style brick pagoda, with the total height of 75.48 meters. It is the third highest brick pagoda in China and holds the title to be the highest of its kind in Chengdu.
