Cargo train links Poland with China's Jiangxi -- A new China-Europe freight train was launched on August 15, linking Poland with Ganzhou in east China's Jiangxi Province. The train, loaded with 41 containers of furniture, electronic goods, clothes and toys, departed from Ganzhou for Warsaw, Poland through Manzhouli port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Egypt, China ink deal to build fast tram around Cairo -- The Egyptian Ministry of Transport and a coalition of Chinese firms signed on August 15 an agreement worth 1.24 billion U.S. dollars to build a light rail transit in new districts around Cairo. The aspired light rail is a fast tram expected to cover a distance of 66 km with 11 stops, connecting the under-construction new administrative capital city with distant districts of Greater Cairo including Al-Salam City, Ramadan 10 City, Obour City, Badr City and Shorouk City.
New air freight route helps Zhejiang-Russia trade take off -- A new flight route for cargo aircraft connecting Hangzhou and Novosibirsk, Russia's third most populous city, was inaugurated at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport in the Zhejiang provincial capital on Aug 11.
Sinohydro wins contract for one section of E60 Highway Project in Georgia -- Sinohydro Bureau 16 Co., Ltd. won the bid for the construction of one section of E60 Highway Project in Georgia. The project was invested by European lnvestment Bank (EIB), and valued at 133 million lari (about 48.95 million U.S. dollars) , which was scheduled to be completed in 24 months. The section of the E60 Highway Project has a total length of 5.8 kilometers, which will be one of the key sections of the Eurasian transport corridor connecting Europe and Asia.
Country Garden signs 21 contracts for co-building ‘new industry city’ in Malaysia -- Country Garden had signed strategic cooperation agreements with 21 institutions from China, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom in Country Garden Pacific View, which is located in Johor Bahru, capital city of Johor State, Malaysia, in a bid to promote the construction of a new industrial city and economic and trade cooperation zone. Situated in the Malaysian Special Economic Zone Iskandar, Country Garden Pacific View is a smart ecological city with a population capacity of several hundred thousands of people, which was invested a total of 100 billion U.S. dollars by Country Garden jountly with Sasaki and other international teams, covering an area of about 30 square kilometers.
Sinohydro wins the bid for raising La Gogue dam project of Seychelles -- Sinohydro Corporation Limited (Sinohydro) has recently won the bid for raising La Gogue dam project, so as to boost water supply on Mahé, Seychelles. The project was invested by African Development Bank, and valued at 13.3720 million U.S. dollars, which was scheduled to be completed in 730 days.
CCECC wins bid for Kenyan rural highway construction project -- China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has recently won the bid for a rural highway construction project RWC480 in Kenya. Located in Kwale, adjacent to the Mombasa Highway Project, this project involves upgrading and reconstruction of a 70km-long highway in the area. It is funded by the local government and managed by Kenyan Rural Highway Bureau.
