BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua Silk Road) -- The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), a national-level comprehensive exhibition for trade in services, kicked off in Beijing on Sept. 9, featuring the debut of a China services-themed cases exhibition area at the core of its thematic exhibition.
The launching of the new exhibition will offer a window for visitors to gain insights into the quality and vitality of China's services.
China's trade in services is growing vigorously, with its scale exceeding one trillion U.S. dollars and injecting growing vitality into the global trade in services.
Piao Xuedong, director of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, said the "China Services" cases exhibition area has collected more than 140 cases covering 12 major sectors of trade in services from more than 20 provinces, five autonomous regions and four municipalities, as well as central state-owned enterprises and centrally managed financial institutions.
This year's CIFTIS focuses on three major functions, namely expanding opening-up, deepening cooperation, and promoting innovation, and helps bring more Chinese services to the global market, said Piao.
The "China Services" exhibition features cases showcasing how China's services benefit people around the world; how digital intelligence and technology are driving the upgrading of services; how services and manufacturing can complement and advance each other, and how the outcomes of service development can benefit people and continuously improve people's well-being.
Among the digital and intelligent cases, those centered on technologies such as AI, large models and intelligent agents account for nearly 40 percent of the total.
Other cases showcased include a digital trade model combining gaming, e-sports, culture, tourism and brands to promote the global dissemination of Chinese culture, cross-cultural exchanges and the integration of cultural and tourism consumption; reusable rocket technology, which has achieved major breakthroughs, and global commercial satellite launch missions; an AI-powered intelligent Q&A project, designed for government services and based on a large language model to provide residents with 24/7 intelligent policy consultation services.
Meanwhile, a range of cases regarding the integration of services with the manufacturing industries is also exhibited. They include hot isostatic pressing technology enhancing the performance of advanced equipment materials used in aerospace, healthcare, consumer electronics and other sectors; and a smart pharmaceutical control platform improving operation and maintenance efficiency by more than 30 percent while reducing carbon emissions from pharmaceutical factories by 10 to 15 percent.
"During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, global industrial chains are undergoing accelerated restructuring, with digital and intelligent transformation and green transition gaining momentum. China's service sector will have a stronger foundation, and trade in services will embrace new historical opportunities," said Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce.
Held in Beijing's Shougang Park from Sept. 9 to 13, the CIFTIS attracts more than 1,800 enterprises to set up their booths, including 456 Fortune Global 500 companies and other industry-leading enterprises.
A wide range of events will be held on site, including nearly 100 conferences and forums, over 100 matchmaking and promotion events, the launch of 11 business inspection routes aimed at promoting trade and cultural tourism experiences, and 74 supporting activities.
