Supercharging stations help expedite green logistic corridor construction in Linyi, E China

Compared to the time-consuming traditional charging, one charge for a truck driver surnamed Wang at a roadside supercharging station in east China's Linyi City now takes merely a short while and enables him to run for one more trip every day.

Located in Yitang Town, a core part of Linyi Modern Logistics City in Lanshan District of the city, the supercharging station for heavy-duty trucks significantly eases the "mileage concerns" of local electric truck drivers.

Built by Linyi Power Supply Company under State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company and State Grid (Shandong) Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd., it has 15 large parking spaces for heavy-duty trucks, of which eight are equipped with fully liquid-cooled superchargers.

As a single charging gun of such superchargers boasts charging power up to 800-1,000 kW, heavy-duty electric truck drivers there can generally finish charging after a quick meal.

Before this station went into operation, another supercharging station had been put into operation in Yitang Town of Linyi in March, featuring as many as 100 charging parking spaces.

By facilitating the construction of such supercharging stations, Linyi Power Supply Company further adapted to the ongoing electrification trend of heavy-duty trucks to expedite local green logistics corridor construction.

Despite taking up about three percent of all automotive vehicles nationwide, heavy-duty trucks altogether consume more than 50 percent of fuels used on roads, posing challenges to green transition of Linyi, the logistics capital of China.

Under such circumstances, the city with 169,000 heavy-duty trucks in operation released action plans in June to speed up construction of supercharging stations for heavy-duty trucks and application of electric trucks.

To enhance power service guarantee, Linyi Power Supply Company offered "one-stop" services for public charging pile installation applications, opened "green channels" for power supply applications from new supercharging stations, and established the highly-efficient "project head plus special work team" mechanism to provide tailored comprehensive energy solutions for charging station investors.

It also revved up grid renovation, aligned supercharging station deployment planning with local grid planning and formulated plans for building supportive grids for heavy-duty truck supercharging stations to enhance power facilities construction.

Through these efforts, the company contributed to accelerating the high-quality construction of citywide green logistics corridors in Linyi.
