ROME, June 17 (Xinhua Silk Road) -- Chinese motorcycle brands are gaining growing recognition in Italy as their presence expands from international racetracks to mainstream markets.
Over the weekend, French rider Valentin Debise claimed victory in Race 1 of the FIM Supersport World Championship at the Emilia-Romagna Round, securing his sixth win of the season with the Chinese manufacturer ZXMOTO.
The racing success comes amid strong export growth for China's motorcycle industry. Data from the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle (CCCM) showed that China exported 18.23 million motorcycles in 2025, up 25.77 percent year on year, while export value rose 30.67 percent to 11.39 billion U.S. dollars.
Exports to Europe reached 1.68 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.72 percent from a year earlier, making the region one of the fastest-growing overseas markets for Chinese manufacturers.
Zhang Hongbo, secretary general of CCCM, said Europe remains the world's most mature and high-end motorcycle market. He noted that Chinese brands in Italy are moving from a peripheral presence toward broader market acceptance, supported by rising exports of larger-displacement and higher-value-added models.
Italy, home to globally renowned motorcycle brands and a strong riding culture, has become an important gateway for Chinese manufacturers seeking to expand in Europe.
According to Zhang, ZXMOTO's achievements in WorldSSP reflect not only the progress of a single company but also the broader upgrading of China's motorcycle industry through technological innovation, product improvement and brand development.
