ROME, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Trenitalia, part of Italy's state railway group FS Italiane, recently signed a commercial cooperation agreement with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, aiming to boost the development and consolidation of the brand in the Chinese market and foster new business opportunities.
The agreement establishes a structured framework for the promotion of Trenitalia's services through communication campaigns, event organization, and operational support in China.
"This agreement represents a concrete step forward in strengthening our presence in China, a strategic, high-potential market," said Francesco Cacciapuoti, Sales Director of Trenitalia.
"Thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, we will be able to expand our network of local contacts, develop new partnerships, and more effectively promote the travel experience in Italy through our railway system and Trenitalia's integrated services," he added.
The results recorded in recent years confirm the growing interest of the Chinese market in the offer of Trenitalia. In 2025, sales doubled compared to the previous year, and in the first quarter of 2026, passenger numbers doubled again compared to the same period in 2025, highlighting strong growth potential for Italian rail mobility among Chinese consumers.
