BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Supply Company is applying panoramic intelligent inspection system, integrating multiple technologies such as drones, fixed cameras, and robot dogs, to build a comprehensive inspection network in the coastal province Zhejiang.
This system uses high-altitude surveillance drones, fixed monitoring cameras and robot dogs on the ground to accurately identify thermal defects. It also integrates advanced intelligent algorithms such as AI, big data analysis, and image recognition, which can autonomously activate various operation and maintenance modes based on environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. Through the application of this system, the grid company established a comprehensive intelligent inspection system that can monitor power line conditions without blind spots and provide precise risk warnings.
At the ±800 kV Shaoxing Converter Station in Zhejiang, the application of this system has achieved the full coverage of the station, reduced operation costs, and cut loads of on-site tune-up work. As a result, the inspection efficiency has been increased by 60 percent, and the defect identification rate has reached over 95 percent.
At present, this system has been adopted in 40 converter stations in Zhejiang, providing technological support for the safe and stable operation of the power grid. (Edited by Liang Hengwei, lianghengwei@xinhua.org)
