PARIS, May 6 (Xinhua Silk Road) -- Chinese automaker Geely recently hosted a brand event in Paris at the iconic Carrousel du Louvre, the landmark shopping and event venue located beneath the Louvre Museum.
At the event, Geely officially announced its entry into the French market, and unveiled two new energy vehicle models. The two models launched are the super hybrid SUV Geely Starray EM-i and the electric SUV Geely E5.
According to the company, both vehicles have already been introduced in more than 40 countries and regions worldwide and have each received a five-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) in its 2025 assessments.
The company also announced official French-market pricing and monthly leasing plans for both models during the event.
Giovanni Lanfranchi, CEO of Geely Technology Europe, along with other senior executives, noted that Geely has maintained a presence in Europe for more than two decades.
Over the years, the company has built strong technological expertise, localized operational capabilities, and customer service capacity through its network of design, R&D, and engineering centers across Sweden, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
This extensive infrastructure enables Geely's local teams to directly serve European customers. Against this backdrop, the company described its launch in France as a key milestone in advancing its global expansion strategy.
In her remarks, Jenny Jin, managing director at Geely Auto France, noted that 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the company's founding. Drawing on decades of experience and its long-term commitment to the French market, she said Geely is confident that its "globalized system and localized service" model will help shape a future of smart, green, safe, and efficient mobility together with French consumers. She also mentioned that the company is aiming to capture 5 percent of the French market by 2030.
It is also stated that Geely's activity in France will always be guided by its "Make Premium the New Normal" philosophy, which, by leveraging three strategic pillars including global resource synergy, an integrated intelligent technology ecosystem, and comprehensive safety, intends to redefine the traditional boundaries between premium and mass-market mobility.
Thomas Leonard, sales and network development director for Geely Auto France, added that the company's sales target for 2026 is 6,000 vehicles. In terms of network expansion, Geely plans to establish 70 sales outlets across France by 2026, with that number expected to grow to 120 by 2027, and to 170 by 2028.
