HONG KONG, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong International Airport handled 61 million passenger trips in 2025, up 15 percent year on year, the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) announced on Thursday.
The performance was achieved on the back of a strong Christmas peak season surpassing 200,000 daily passenger trips for eight days in December 2025. In December 2025, the airport handled 5.8 million passengers, a 13.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year, according to the AAHK.
Furthermore, visitor and transfer/transit passenger segments recorded double-digit growth in December 2025, with traffic to and from the Chinese mainland, Southeast Asia and North America showing the most significant increases.
