Vice premier says China to work with all parties for open, stable, predictable international trade environment

Abstract : China will work with all parties to uphold an open, stable and predictable international trade environment, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said in Beijing on Tuesday.

BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China will work with all parties to uphold an open, stable and predictable international trade environment, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said in Beijing on Tuesday.

He, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

China firmly supports the multilateral trading system centered on the WTO and opposes unilateralism and protectionism, He said.

He further emphasized that China will actively participate in reform of the WTO, continuously promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment, and work with all parties to sustain an open, stable and predictable international trade environment.

Okonjo-Iweala said the multilateral trading system provides global trade with stability and resilience. The director-general also expressed hope that all parties would strengthen dialogue and cooperation within the framework of the WTO.
