ADDIS ABABA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Officials and experts have called for further deepening China-Africa collaboration in human resource development, as they commend China's continued capacity building and experience sharing support.
This came during an event Wednesday celebrating Sino-African cooperation in human resource development at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital.
The gathering brought together Chinese and African diplomats, senior AU officials, and representatives of African professionals who have benefited from China-aided training initiatives.
Jiang Feng, head of the Chinese Mission to the AU, highlighted the win-win outcomes of China-Africa partnership across various cooperation areas, including human capital development, socio-economic ties, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people relations.
With the upgrade of the overall positioning of China-Africa relations to "an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era," he said, Sino-Africa relations are now "at their best in history."
China-aided training initiatives for Africa are closely aligned with the AU's Agenda 2063, covering vital sectors including governance, public health, agriculture, and technological innovation, Jiang said.
"Africa's modernization is an important part of the cause of human progress. China will always be a reliable partner for Africa's development and revitalization," he said, adding that Beijing is willing to work with the AU and its members "to closely align the experience, expertise, and market advantages accumulated in Chinese modernization, with the development needs of Africa's Agenda 2063."
AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment Moses Vilakati, for his part, commended China's "unwavering support and partnership" with Africa.
"China has become a great example of what holistic development looks like in reality," Vilakati said, praising the Chinese government for its "strategic investments in Africa's future" through human capital development and various other sectors.
He acknowledged the significance of China-aided human development initiatives in terms of equipping Africans, the continent's burgeoning youth in particular, with the necessary skills to advance development goals.
"By equipping our professionals with advanced skills in smart agriculture, livestock systems, aquaculture, and mechanization, we are laying the foundation for food security, for economic growth, and inclusive development," Vilakati noted.
The event also marked the inauguration of the Alumni Association of the China-aided Training Program for Africa, which aims to further bolster the network of trained professionals and magnify the long-term impact of the knowledge exchange. The association is expected to serve as a permanent platform for continuous exchange, cooperation, and transforming expertise into practical development results across the continent.
With the upcoming 2026 set to celebrate the China-Africa year of people-to-people exchanges, members of the alumni association have been encouraged to actively promote the China-Africa friendship for the new era.
