ROME, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- A special lecture focusing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was hosted at the Science China Corner at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala in Malta on November 27, aiming to promote the presence of Chinese culture and TCM in overseas schools.
The session, drawing strong interest from students, was delivered by Zhang Xiusheng, Director of the 21st China Medical Team at the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine (MRCTCM). Zhang introduced students to common issues such as eye muscle tension and headaches, and explained several simple methods for relief.
During the lecture, one student, Ay Jay Vassallo, said, "It was a very interesting session, and I learned that TCM treatments are considered to have fewer side effects than Western medicine." Another student, Denilson Borg Mifsud, added, "Knowing that TCM treats musculoskeletal pain through acupuncture, cupping and herbal remedies makes me want to explore the topic further."
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Science China Corner, an initiative designed to explore scientific knowledge, with Traditional Chinese Medicine as a key component. Through this event, the school aims to foster the integration and understanding of Chinese culture and TCM on campus.
