KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- HONOR AI + Design Summit 2025 (APAC Edition) was held in Malaysia here on Thursday, bringing together representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, industry and youth innovation communities from China and Malaysia.

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing said China has taken steps to not only enhance the development and usability of AI, but more importantly, has committed itself to ecosystem building by enhancing AI governance.

"These efforts are clear proof of China's resolve to practice high-quality development through sci-tech innovation and keep the gate open by actively engaging in the global innovation networks," he added.

Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shaffie, special adviser to Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education, said that Malaysia's rapidly growing AI ecosystem relies on the deep involvement of high-quality global resources. He said Malaysia looks forward to strengthening cooperation with more Chinese enterprises and welcomes partners from across the Asia-Pacific.

Senior Vice President of HONOR Martin Xu said that the company is breaking industry barriers with an open AI ecosystem to deliver seamless intelligent experiences that boost productivity and drive quality growth across sectors.

The summit served as a platform for exchanging ideas, forging partnerships, and co-developing solutions to the region's unique challenges, he said.
