BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- A direct air passenger route connecting Beijing and Muscat, Oman, will be launched on Nov. 30, according to Beijing Daxing International Airport (BDIA).

China Eastern Airlines will operate the MU2051/MU2052 flights with an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The outbound flight will depart from BDIA at 2 p.m. Beijing Time and arrive at Muscat International Airport at 7:55 p.m. local time. The return trip will depart Muscat at 9:55 p.m. local time and arrive at BDIA at 10 a.m. the next day, Beijing Time.

China and Oman have a deep traditional friendship, and in recent years, the two sides have seen closer economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges.

In May this year, China introduced a trial visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. From June 9, 2025, to June 8, 2026, they can enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, provided that the purpose is business, tourism, family visits, exchanges or transit.

The launch of this direct flight route will further promote exchanges between the two countries and provide a strong impetus to practical cooperation and the further development of bilateral relations, according to the airport.
