BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang has congratulated Andrew Holness on reassuming office as prime minister of Jamaica.
In a message sent on Sept. 10, Li said Jamaica is an important country in the Caribbean and a strategic partner of China. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 53 years ago, relations between China and Jamaica have developed in a sound and stable manner, seeing fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation across various fields and deepening friendship between the two peoples.
China highly values the development of bilateral relations, Li said, adding that he is ready to work with Holness to take the China-Jamaica strategic partnership to new heights through high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, so as to better benefit the two peoples.
