BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- On August 24, the Wuxi grilled fish cultural festival opened alongside the Daning River in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. The daily visitor number exceeded 10,000, with some restaurants seeing sales increase by 300 percent.
State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company ensured stable electricity supply for the event with round-the-clock support, powering the local nighttime economy.
A week before the event, the company reinforced more than 10 sections of riverside power lines and deployed backup generators. Over 10 crew members worked in shifts to monitor electricity usage in real time.
The event significantly increased revenue for local businesses and combined traditional culture with modern services. Wuxi County plans to make the festival an annual event. State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company pledged to continue improving power support to promote local tourism.
