BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The IAA Mobility 2025, also known as the Munich auto show, opened on Tuesday in Munich, Germany. As one of the major official events on the opening night, Gathering Together -- AutoVision & Weibo Night 2025 provided a high-level platform for dialogue and information exchange among global automakers, smart driving innovators and future mobility experts.
The event brought together senior officials, industry leaders and award-winning representatives. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the internationalization of Chinese brands, intelligent driving, artificial intelligence, green development and global cooperation.
Zhai Qian, minister of economic and commercial affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Germany, said more and more Chinese automobile brands are going global, bringing not only technology and products, but also culture and ideas.
In the future, Chinese automobiles will serve not just as vehicles, but as carriers of culture, advocates of green lifestyles and bridges of global cooperation, Zhai added.
Wang Wei, COO of Weibo, highlighted the growing role of social media in shaping the industry.
The auto sector is not only about selling cars, but also about creating and sharing lifestyles, Wang said, adding that Weibo is becoming an important arena for brands to connect directly with users, build influence globally and achieve value resonance.
During the event, a report on the 2024 global auto brand value assessment was released, with the aim of raising international recognition of Chinese brands while enabling global innovations and ideas to integrate faster into China. The 2025 edition of the report is scheduled for release this December. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
