BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Zibo Power Supply Company in east China's Shandong Province is improving the efficiency of its electric services with the help of online application in order to meet rising demand from electric vehicle owners.
It reduces the average time for installing electric vehicle charging piles by 60 percent to three working days by adopting an App called "State Grid Online", and clients have no need to apply the installation service at the power grid company's office.
Ms. Luo, an electric vehicle owner in Zibo City, recently submitted the application for installation of a new metering box for the charging pile at her community through the App. It took her only three minutes to complete the online application by uploading materials, such as pictures of her ID card, parking space property rights certificate, property management permit and car purchase contract.
The power grid company then worked out a customized plan for Ms. Luo after its staff conducted the on-site investigation the next day after the application was submitted, and installed a centralized metering box for her. The entire process took only three working days, during which Ms. Luo could check the installation progress at any time through the App.
State Grid Zibo Power Supply Company will continue to adopt digital technology to make electric services more convenient, said a staff with the company. (Edited by Dong Shishan, dss@xinhua.org)
