BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Eight vloggers from the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, Russia, Egypt, Montenegro, Thailand, and Italy embarked on Wednesday on the 3-day-long "Greenwise Xplore Road Trip" to explore green technology in Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Guangzhou in south China.
After setting off from BYD's headquarters in Pingshan District of Shenzhen, they are driving BYD's Denza N9 and Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 new energy vehicles, equipped with the Lingyuan vehicle-mounted drone system, on this journey across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Photo shows that the vloggers' convoy departs from headquarters of BYD Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen on July 9.
Guided by the Information Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, the event is co-organized by EyeShenzhen of Shenzhen News Group, in collaboration with the Publicity Department of the CPC Pingshan District Committee and BYD Co., Ltd.
Prior to the journey, the vloggers experienced BYD's cutting-edge technologies, including the Lingyuan system, which integrates a vehicle-mounted drone and 4K high-resolution camera. Equipped with advanced algorithm, it can produce videos instantly.
"I am interested in using the drone from the vehicle. I've seen this technology before, but had not yet the opportunity to try it for myself. As someone who enjoys flying drones, this will be a great opportunity to test it for myself," said British vlogger Lee Barrett.
"The drone system sounds like a fun and futuristic bonus in this trip," said Mahmoud Hamdy Mahmoud Ahmed, a Shenzhen "global communication ambassador" from Egypt.
"Imagine filming scenic or environmental landmarks from the air while driving! I absolutely can't wait!" said Gloria D'Andrea, an Italian student at Shenzhen Polytechnic University.
The itinerary is designed to showcase southern China's green energy landscape. Participants will see how waste is converted into power at Shenzhen's Nanshan Energy Ecological Park before witnessing clean energy production at Zhuhai Guishan Offshore Wind Farm. The tour will then explore the future of energy represented by breakthroughs in hydrogen at Guangzhou Nansha Xiaohu Island Electric-Hydrogen Smart Energy Station and the innovative functions of Lieqiao Substation, also known as Guangzhou Power Box Science Center.
These iconic green technology sites in the GBA showcase China's ingenuity in achieving its dual carbon goals.
The participating vloggers are popular creators on various platforms such as Douyin, Bilibili, YouTube, and Instagram, saying that they will share videos about technologies and experiences across social media.
