BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The China (Chongqing) - UAE Economic and Trade Investment Promotion Conference was held in southwest China's Chongqing on May 23, bringing together over 100 participants from the UAE and nearly 300 participants from Chongqing to exchange ideas on cooperation in industrial development, financial connectivity, culture and tourism among others.
With the theme of "Shared Vision, Shared Future", the event aimed at sharing economic development opportunities and promoting two-way pragmatic cooperation.

A report on economic and investment cooperation between Chongqing and the UAE was released during the conference. Compiled by China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency, it is a comprehensive case study collection showcasing the outcomes of collaboration between Chongqing and the UAE.
According to the report, Chongqing and the UAE are highly complementary in industrial structures, with broad space for two-way investment, and the UAE has become an important destination for Chongqing's excellent manufacturing enterprises in going global.
Investing in Chongqing will let the UAE share the benefits brought by the upgrading of China's vast inland market and the growth of high-tech enterprises, and the UAE's industrial diversification and energy transformation needs will be precisely aligned with Chongqing's new energy technology and intelligent manufacturing industry, says the report.
Data shows that the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization has promoted more than 100 enterprises in Chongqing to participate in two-way investment negotiations, covering multiple cutting-edge fields such as new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, and environmental protection technology.
A series of cooperation agreements were signed during the conference, in a bid to carry out broader and deeper cooperation in industry, trade, logistics, education and other fields.
The event was co-hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and the Embassy of the UAE in China.
