TOKYO, May 25 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese film event was held on Sunday at the China Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, drawing over 100 attendees, including representatives from the Chinese and Japanese film industries as well as officials from various Expo pavilions.
During the event, members of the Chinese film delegation shared insights on their filmmaking experiences, focusing on topics such as the industrialization of film production and the promotion of traditional Chinese culture.
They also introduced recent advancements across various sectors of China's film industry.
Deng Guanghui, executive vice chairman of the China Film Association, said the event reflects the implementation of the China-Japan High-Level People-to-People Exchange Mechanism.
He highlighted that recent Chinese films, with their unique Eastern aesthetics and modern narratives, have showcased the cultural depth and contemporary charm of China to global audiences.
Xue Jian, Chinese Consul General in Osaka, emphasized the irreplaceable role of cinema as a cultural bridge, noting the rising popularity of Chinese films and TV shows in Japan and the growing momentum in bilateral film exchanges.
Wu Shengrong, director of the China Pavilion, said the event presented high-quality films that embody Chinese culture, values, and the spirit of the times. It also highlighted China's recent achievements in film artistry, technological innovation, and industry development.
