BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- During the five-day May Day holiday, State Grid Linyi Power Supply Company provided 81,300 times of charging services to electric vehicles, powering an eco-friendly holiday in east China's Shandong Province.
During the holiday, charging facilities operated by the company supplied a total of over 1.87 million kWh of electricity, registering a year-on-year increase of 38.17 percent.
At the service areas of the highways, the company launched mobile charging facilities this year, to address the peak-hour charging pressure during the holiday. Thanks to the add-on devices, the charging stations at the highways service areas witnessed 30,000 charging sessions, providing 706,500 kWh of power, up 27.65 percent year on year.
During the same period, the company also conducted a series of security checks for 464 charging stations across the city, focusing on equipment functionality, cooling systems, payment systems, and fire safety, to avoid potential issues during peak hours. After the inspections, 42 malfunctioning charging piles have been repaired, raising equipment availability to over 99.8 percent.
