BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A global alumni half-marathon was held on Sunday in Shapingba District of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, attracting 5,000 alumni and sports enthusiasts from home and abroad.
On the occasion of the event, Shapingba District has actively expanded new consumption scenarios, injecting vitality for regional development.
Deeply integrating business, culture, tourism and sports, the event not only provided runners with safe and thoughtful services but also featured a meticulously planned consumption season covering scenarios of dining, shopping, sightseeing and accommodation. The campaign runs from April 18 to mid-May.

In addition, Shapingba District optimized its hotel resources, offering discounts and tailored packages, as well as exclusive shuttle services for marathon participants.
The consumption season fostered partnerships between local cultural tourism firms and around 1,000 travel agencies.
