MOSCOW, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Moscow ice cream flavoured with creme brulee, vanilla and chocolate will be presented at SIAL China, an international food and beverage exhibition to be held in May in east China's Shanghai, according to the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy(DIPP) of Moscow.
According to DIPP, Russia has entered the top 10 largest suppliers of ice cream to China. In the first quarter of 2024, more than 276 tonnes of Russian ice cream were exported to China, six times more than a year earlier. More than 65 percent of the exported ice cream were made by Moscow-based producers.
"Chinese consumers are focusing on product quality and are increasingly opting for ice cream with natural ingredients," said Agnessa Osipova, General Director of BRandICE Ice Cream Factory in Moscow.
"We are witnessing a surge in demand for classic flavors that evoke feelings of trust, comfort, and nostalgia. This is why creme brulee, vanilla, and chocolate are not just desserts, but genuine gastronomic classics that have already captured the hearts of Chinese consumers." She added that the company aims to fortify its presence in the Chinese market and significantly increase the volume of its product supplies in 2025.
