BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspection is an important way to ensure the safety of power distribution network. State Grid Zibo Electric Power Supply Co. uses the “UAV + visualization” mode to carry out temperature measurement of power distribution network lines and equipment inspection in order to ensure the stable supply of electricity during the winter.
The temperature measuring equipment carried by the UAV can collect the temperature data of the power distribution network lines quickly and accurately. Compared with the traditional way, the UAV has the advantages of fast flight speed and closer measurement distance, which greatly improves the accuracy of inspection, said a staff with the local power grid company.
