BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- When the dazzling lanterns of Anju ancient city added to the festive aura during Spring Festival holiday, staffs of Chongqing's grid operator were busy walking through the bustling streets to ensure holiday power supply.

For years, traditional Chinese lanterns such as dragon-shaped ones and other folk celebration activities including dragon dances have helped the Anju ancient city, the fourth largest one across China, teem with travelers during the Spring Festival holiday.

This year, the ancient city located in Tongliang District of Chongqing and famed for its profound history and diverse cultural relics attracted more visitors than usual after the traditional Chinese feast was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Under such circumstances, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Co., Ltd. enhanced pre-holiday patrols over related transformer stations and power lines to remove potential security hazards and guarantee quality power supply.
During the Spring Festival holiday, Anju power supply station, a local arm of the company, distributed two teams to inspect and measure the temperature of the ancient city's power facilities and electronic devices of local shops with relatively high electricity load.

Apart from these, workers of Anju power supply station reminded as always local shop owners of turning off electrical appliances after leaving and checking power line aging and damages for timely replacement.
In the ancient city that boasts as many as 197 cultural relics and a large number of wood houses, workers of Anju power supply station also initiated special and night power patrols and gave out power safety brochures to ensure a secured Chinese New Year for local dwellers and travelers this year.
