BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Multiple logistics, business and trade data released recently has shown the vitality and resilience of China's economic development.

-- Small parcels see increased quantity and quality

Express logistics is a wind vane reflecting economic vitality and a barometer of economic development.

According to data from the State Post Bureau (SPB), China's courier sector surpassed the 100-billion-parcel mark on August 13 this year, 71 days earlier than in 2023, reflecting a booming express delivery market with improving development quality and efficiency, as well as the vitality and resilience of China's economic development.

Data revealed by the SPB on August 16 showed that the postal industry completed the delivery of 15.8 billion parcels in July this year, increasing by 20.1 percent year on year, with the express delivery volume reaching 14.26 billion parcels, increasing by 22.2 percent year on year. Driven by the rebounding Chinese economy, the booming consumer market and the favorable policies to expand domestic demand and stabilize growth, the express delivery industry has provided strong support in serving online economic development and fostering the flow of product elements, said an official from the SPB.

-- Air freight reaches the best level in history

The prosperity in the logistics sector is also reflected in air transport, railway transport and many other data.

According to data released on August 15 by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway), China's railway network transported 334 million tonnes of goods in July this year, with a daily transport of 10.76 million tonnes of goods, an increase of 3.1 percent year on year. China's railway freight volume, freight turnover and other indicators have consistently ranked first in the world, with a timely delivery rate of 96 percent, which is at the forefront of the world.

The achievements are inseparable with the innovative measures taken by China Railway. The company has vigorously developed the multimodal container train service, with the railway container shipment volume rising by 20.3 percent year on year in July this year, signed railway logistics contracts with a cumulative transport volume of over 400 million tonnes since the beginning of this year, and provided freight loan products to 416 clients, with a credit financing of 14.2 billion yuan, according to an executive of China Railway.

China's air freight volume has been growing rapidly since the beginning of this year, and the overall air freight scale has reached the best level in history.

The civil aviation transport market is expected to maintain stable growth in the second half of this year, with the demand for air transportation of cargoes and mails generally stable and the industry efficiency and benefit indicators continuing to rise slightly, noted Xu Qing, deputy head of the Department of Transport with the CAAC.

Data released by the General Administration of Customs showed that in the first seven months of this year, China's exports in goods trade amounted to 14.26 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.7 percent. The trade structure continues to optimize, with innovation vitality further evident.

China's shipping connectivity is globally leading, with port cargo throughput, port container throughput and other indicators consistently ranking first in the world. The continuous improvement in transportation capacity, continuous opening of new routes, and continuous update of loading and unloading records confirm the stable and positive development trend of the Chinese economy.
