China's Shenzhen sees increased China-Europe freight train trips in H1

August 07, 2024

Abstract : A total of 96 China-Europe freight trains departed from Shenzhen in the first half of this year, with a total cargo value of 27.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.2 percent, according to Shenzhen Customs on August 5.

BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A total of 96 China-Europe freight trains departed from Shenzhen in the first half of this year, with a total cargo value of 27.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.2 percent, according to Shenzhen Customs on August 5.

A large number of high-quality products have been transported to Europe though China-Europe freight trains, providing European consumers with more choices and creating more opportunities for companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to access the international market.

The China-Europe freight train service is deeply integrated with the local industries and enterprises in Shenzhen. Local companies such as Fenda, Mindray, and Shenzhen MTC have achieved impressive results by exporting electronic appliances, digital products, and other goods through the China-Europe freight trains.

Meanwhile, more and more goods from the Pearl River Delta region, which includes Foshan City and Zhongshan City in South China's Guangdong province, are sent to Shenzhen before being exported via the freight trains.

Moreover, Shenzhen Customs has established a swift coordination mechanism so as to ensure that once the goods arrive at the customs, they can be inspected and cleared promptly.  (Edited by Yang Linlin with Xinhua Silk Road, linlinyanglyn@163.com)
