BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Henan Electric Power Company recently made progress in international standardization, with a proposed new recommendation and an upgrade for the supplement to a recommendation approved by experts with the International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T).
Electric power facilities are increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters due to global climate change, posing significant threats to the safe and stable operation of power system. The proposed new recommendation, “requirements and framework of metaverse simulation service for disaster prevention in electric power facilities”, focuses on advancing disaster prevention and mitigation technologies tailored for electric power facilities, by using the metaverse to create immersive digital environments for emergency drills.
It can help to specify the requirements and reference framework of metaverse simulation service for disaster prevention in electric power facilities, which can be used to guide the construction of the simulation framework for disaster prevention and mitigation of electric power facilities to enhance emergency response and decision-making capabilities of electric power enterprises.
State Grid Henan Electric Power Company will further deepen its collaboration in international standardization to facilitate communication technology in the global energy sector, said a staff with the grid company. (Edited by Jiang Yujuan, jiangyj@xinhua.org)
