Intelligent fault detection helps Henan ensure stable power supply

July 02, 2024

Abstract : State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company said it will put into operation more distribution lines with self-healing function, which will further improve electricity availability in the region.

BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company recently realized the rapid isolation of line faults and rapid restoration of power to 92 stations in non-fault areas through the feeder automation function of distribution network at its 10 kV Xiye East power supply line in Jiaozuo, a city in central China’s Henan Province.

The whole process only took 2 minutes and 47 seconds, which was the first time for the local power grid company to realize self-healing of distribution network with such intelligent function.

In the past, it was time-consuming and laborious to manually search the fault location and restore power supply to the non-fault area. In the fault handling of the 10 kV Xiye East line, the grid company realized the accurate location and rapid isolation of the fault with the automatic function of the distribution network feeder, and the power of the non-fault area was immediately restored, which greatly shortened the fault handling time and reduced the load loss, and further improved stable electricity supply.

State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company said it will put into operation more distribution lines with self-healing function, which will further improve electricity availability in the region. (Edited by Jiang Yujuan, jiangyj@xinhua.org)
