BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced issuance of 40 billion yuan of 20-year special Treasury bonds (T-bonds) at 2.49 percent yield on Friday.
According to MOF's announcement, value date of this batch of 20-year fixed-rate T-bonds is on May 25, 2024, with the bond interest to be paid semiannually, and they will enter secondary trading from May 29 this year.
MOF announced previously to issue one trillion yuan of special T-bonds of ultra-long terms in 22 batches this year. Among the special T-bonds of different terms, 20-year T-bonds are scheduled to be issued once a month from May to November.
Public information showed that the issuance of the 20-year special T-bonds on Friday marked the first offering of such T-bonds in China.
