BEIJING, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A cold-chain China-Europe freight train carrying 70 tonnes of chicken products and other agricultural and sideline products departed from Xuzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province on Friday, traveling 9,300 kilometers towards Moscow in 11 days.
It is learned that this train adopts cold-chain container transportation, and will be directly delivered to the customers' hands, achieving real-time monitoring of the whole process of the cabinet temperature, goods status and other information.
Besides, it also marks the first batch of cold-chain foreign trade goods from Xuzhou Huaihai International Cold Chain Smart Logistics Base, further strengthening comprehensive logistics industry chain of Xuzhou China-Europe freight train, as well as opening up a new channel of foreign trade for local enterprises and boosting enterprises to go global.
Since the beginning of this year, Xuzhou has actively explored a multi-mode and diversified development pattern of China-Europe freight train, and continuously optimized the transportation plan, which greatly helped enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. In the first quarter, a total of 130 China-Europe freight trains were handled in Xuzhou, carrying a total of 10,694 TEUs, with a year-on-year increase of 16.8 percent. The city saw the total value of import and export goods reach about 249 million U.S. dollars, up 90.32 percent year on year.
