SHENYANG, March 29 (Xinhua) -- A new air route linking Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, with Frankfurt in Germany will open on April 25, China Southern Airlines announced on Wednesday.
This will be the first regular flight route directly connecting northeast China and Germany, operated by a domestic airline company. The flights will run every Thursday, with service provided by an Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
The flight duration will be about 11 hours, saving over five hours compared to other transit routes.
Germany is the main source of foreign investment and an important trading partner of Liaoning Province. The new air route is expected to fully meet the growing demands of business, family visits, study and tourism between the two places.
