ZHENGZHOU, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- During the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, Henan’s electric vehicle charging network provided services for car owners about 1.06 million times, hitting a record high, according to a report by the State Grid Henan Electric Power Co.
During the holiday, which stretched from February 10 to 17, Central China’s Henan Province provided a total charging volume of 27.96 million kilowatt hours, surging 49 percent compared with the same period last year, said the local power grid company. The charging volume is equivalent to reducing the consumption of 3.25 million liters of 92-grade gasoline, said the company.
In order to secure charging services during this peak period, the company realized real-time monitoring functions for charging piles and arranged personnel at key stations.
In recent years, Henan province further improved electric car charging services and built charging networks covering cities and villages, aiming to construct intelligent and efficient charging services. So far, Henan has 6494 public charging stations and 70885 charging piles, monitored by the company’s online charging service platform. (Edited by Wang Sheng, wangsheng@xinhua.org)
