BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Asia-Pacific International Network Technology (Hunchun) Co., Ltd. paid over 19,000 yuan of import tax online in cross-border e-commerce retail through China International Trade Single Window on January 17, which marked the official launch of electronic payment of import tax in cross-border e-commerce retail in northeast China’s Jilin Province.
Prior to the launch of the system, Changchun Customs has promoted the policy through various channels and provided targeted training on steps such as tripartite agreement signing and tax payment, so as to familiarize enterprises with the system and ensure the smooth transition to electronic payment.
The electronic payment system for cross-border e-commerce retail import tax allows enterprises to pay taxes online within 30 seconds, which not only streamlines the process, but also helps companies to save operating costs, said Yang Liu, Director of the Tax Collection and Management Division of the Customs Duty Department of Changchun Customs.
In order to support the healthy and orderly development of cross-border e-commerce and other new business formats of foreign trade, Changchun Customs provides enterprises with targeted assistance. By optimizing the procedures of customs clearance in cross-border e-commerce, Jilin enables local cross-border e-commerce retailers to upgrade, giving a major boost to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
