BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- A total of 50 buses made by Chinese bus maker Yutong left the highway port of Erenhot in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on January 13 for Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator, according to Erenhot customs authority.
This was the second batch of Yutong buses to be delivered to Mongolia. In 2023, the government of Ulan Bator announced a plan to purchase 600 Yutong buses, as part of the country's efforts to reform its public transportation sector. The first batch of 35 Yutong buses had been shipped to Mongolia in late December of 2023, and the remaining buses will be transported to the country by the end of February of 2024.
Besides Yutong buses, some "made-in-China" double decker electric buses and regular electric buses have been put into operation in the Mongolian capital since 2020, according to Ye Shuai, deputy director of the No.1 highway supervision department of Erenhot customs.
