BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Thursday met with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso in Beijing.
Han said that over recent years, relations between China and the Republic of the Congo have maintained a momentum of high-quality development, achieving fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation in various fields.
Noting that the two countries will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties next year, Han said China will step up synergizing the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative with the development strategy of the Republic of the Congo, and jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.
Sassou Nguesso extended congratulations on the success of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and said the Republic of the Congo is willing to promote relations with China to achieve even greater progress.
