BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A dozen of vehicles carrying adhesive tapes and bearing TIR signs departed from Linyi City in east China's Shandong Province on Tuesday for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, marking the launch of a 5,500 kilometer-long TIR road transport route between the two cities and the first TIR international road transport route of Linyi.
Transport International Router (TIR) is an international customs transit system to help save time and money for transport operators and customs authorities when moving goods across borders.

With the TIR signs on the vehicles, the goods can be transported to Bishkek, without extensive and time-consuming border checks at intermediate borders, in only 8 days, at least 17 days ahead of schedule, according to Xian Youtao, general manager of Shandong Linman'ou International Logistics Co., Ltd.
