BEIJING, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Hunan joint research center for the development of a new type of power system was established in Changsha City, central China's Hunan Province on Monday, according to People's Government of Hunan.
The joint research center was initiated by Hunan Society for Electrical Engineering and joined by 32 institutions, including State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited, 7 power generation enterprises, 2 designing institutes, 6 colleges and universities, 17 energy equipment and internet companies.
The new center aims to support the high-level development of Hunan's new type of power system and low-carbon energy transformation. To meet this end, the center will focus on promoting innovation in the technologies, business models of the new power system and the whole industry. It will also work to strengthen communication and cooperation of players in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to create a competitive modern energy industry system.
The member institutions will jointly carry out research on key technologies, implement trial production of major equipment, and advance major pilot projects.
