CHONGQING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Western China international communication center was inaugurated in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday as part of efforts to promote the country's overall international communication performance, according to Chongqing's publicity department.
The center aims to merge external publicity and opening-up efforts and integrate international communication and urban development. It seeks to improve China's urban global communication system with innovative strategies such as cross-disciplinary collaboration, social engagement, enterprise incubation, and digital connectivity.
Chongqing launched a provincial-level international communication facility, and cooperated with its neighboring provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou in recent years.
The opening ceremony also hosted a signing event involving participants such as Beijing Foreign Studies University, Sichuan International Studies University, and the newly established international communication center. They will unfold more multi-faceted, concrete, and in-depth cooperation programs in the future.
