BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Rongcheng City in east China's Shandong Province, known as the "hometown of kelp in China", recently entered the kelp harvest season.

Rongcheng City is China's largest kelp cultivation hub, with the cultivation area reaching 10,000 hectares.
The annual production of Rongcheng's kelp accounts for 80 percent of the total output of Shandong Province, more than 40 percent of China's total.
