E.China's Hefei witnesses 485 China-Europe freight trains in Jan.-May this year

Abstract : Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province has witnessed a total of 485 China-Europe freight trains in the first five months of the year, up 24.04 percent year on year, according to Hefei International Land Port Development Co., Ltd., which is in charge of the freight train operations.

BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) – Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province has witnessed a total of 485 China-Europe freight trains in the first five months of the year, up 24.04 percent year on year, according to Hefei International Land Port Development Co., Ltd., which is in charge of the freight train operations.

A China-Europe freight train, carrying 100 TEUs of air conditioners, water pumps, forklifts and other goods, departed from Hefei on May 31st and is scheduled to arrive in Almaty, Kazakhstan after exiting the port of Horgos in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This is also the last outbound train launched by Hefei in May.

Since 2023, Hefei has been committed to strengthening its logistics system construction, injecting vitality into the development of the China-Europe freight train in the city, and adding 25 new international stations to its operating network. So far, Hefei has witnessed the operation of 3,300 China-Europe trains, covering 115 international stations in 18 countries and regions globally.

In addition, the train operator has continued to support the construction of multimodal transport. As of the end of May this year, Hefei has shipped a total of 30,442 standard containers of goods via rail-sea intermodal transportation, transporting high-quality products from well-known Chinese enterprises to European countries and regions such as Hamburg, Germany and Rotterdam, Netherlands.
