BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- State Grid’s Shandong Electric Power Company, in east China’s Shandong province, further improved its electric vehicle charging and battery swapping services during the May Day holiday, also a driving peak period, with 11 emergency mobile electric vehicle charging units deployed.
The company paid attention to Zibo’s charging services, deploying a charging unit that can charge six vehicles at the same time with 360 kW power output, as the city has become China’s tourist hotspot, famous for its barbecues.
During the travel rush period, Shandong Electric Power supplied a total charging capacity of 12.62 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of 135.18 percent, and high-speed charging capacity of about 2.03 million kWh, surging about 1,269 percent from one year ago, according to the company citing market data.
As of April 30, Shandong Electric Power built a total of 2,187 charging stations and 12,683 charging piles across Shandong, with 307 charging units and 1,287 charging piles deployed at highway service areas.
During the holiday, the company monitored the real time operation information of its charging facility networks, shared valuable charging information with customers, and maintained charging services in an orderly manner. (Edited by Wang Sheng, wangsheng@xinhua.org)
