State Grid’s Tai’an power supply company recently kicked off a second Zhongtianmen substation for a voltage of 35 kV, in Mount Tai scenic area, in east China’s Shandong province. After operation, it will meet demand for the next decade of electricity load growth in the scenic spot, according to a new release by the company.
The 7.797-km cable line starts east part of Mount Tai, circles west upwards, and finally connects the Zhongtianmen substation, at the highest altitude of the province, it said.
The project, officially initiated in July 2022, is able to achieve multi-level power supply security for the cableways and the scenic area, and meet requirements of mountain protection and tourist security, said the company. (Contributed by Wang Sheng, edited by Jiang Yujuan, jiangyj@xinhua.org)
