BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation in east China's Shandong Province has planned to build a hydrogen energy application demonstration zone in an attempt to accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry.
It is learned that the transition plant of the hydrogen energy industrial base project in the Yellow River basin has been put into operation recently, marking an important step forward in building the start-up area into the country's hydrogen energy application demonstration highland.
With a total investment of 10 billion yuan, the hydrogen energy industrial base in the Yellow River basin is one of the five major hydrogen energy industrial bases and one of the four major fuel cell industrial bases deployed by the State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) nationwide.
In the future, the start-up area will further join hands with SPIC to carry out carbon-neutral new energy application research and planning, implement hydrogen energy supply, and promote the large-scale application of hydrogen energy in various fields such as public transportation, municipal sanitation, logistics transportation, data centers power supply, etc.
In April 2021, China's State Council approved a plan to build a start-up area to replace old growth drivers with new ones in Jinan. The area also serves as a demonstration zone in promoting ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin.
