BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- An investment promotion event for the 19th International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) and Shenzhen Design Week (SZDW) was held in Berlin, Germany on March 31.
While promoting Shenzhen's cultural industry and offering business opportunities of the two upcoming cultural activities, the event also aims to deepen cooperation between China and Germany in cultural industry, such as fashion, design and cultural exhibition.
Zeng Yingru, minister of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, hailed the deepened cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties and believed that the two cultural activities, as communication and exchange platforms for cultural and innovative industry, will further enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and inject impetus to the overall cooperation in culture and tourism.
Zhang Ling, president of Shenzhen International Culture Exchange Association, said at the promotion event that Berlin, with strong and rapid-developing creative industry, features prominently in the field of design around the world, while Shenzhen was officially designated by UNESCO as China's first City of Design 15 years ago.
She added that Shenzhen is ready to work with Berlin to deepen cooperation in cultural industry.
Andreas Jahn, member of the BVMW, the German association for small and medium-sized businesses, said that the ICIF and the SZDW will facilitate exchanges and cooperation in culture and arts between the two cities and the two countries. The BVMV is looking forward to working together with Shenzhen.
Members of Shenzhen delegation also introduced the details of the two cultural activities at the event.

Besides, Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements with cultural institutes, such as Mediadesign Hochschule and Hiseas International Tourism Group to pool resources and seek common development.
